November 22, 1839
Greetings to you, Mr. Cooke,
I received your letter concerning the misbehavior of the children. Your actions
were just and I have assisted in support of them. I placed our children in an isolated house
for a half hour and then released them. I do not condone what they have done. What you
did was the right thing.
