Notes:
1. Levi Chamberlain - Levi Chamberlain was a member of the second company of
missionaries in 1823. He was the superintendent of secular affairs for the mission and
served as a missionary teacher.
2. Kekuanaoa - Mataio Kekūanāoʻa, of chiefly descent, was first married to Kalani Pauahi
and then to Elizabeth Kīnaʻu. He was the Royal Governor of the island of Oʻahu from
1834-1868, a member of the House of Nobles and Privy Council, the 6th Kuhina Nui
(regent) and the father of Kamehameha IV and Kamehameha V.
