Moʻokūʻauhau Project

Do you have an ancestor that was a pastor or member of a church associated with the Hawaiian Evangelical Association (HEA)? If so, it is quite possible that we might have evidence of this connection within the thousands of pages of letters and church records at the Hawaiian Mission Children's Society Library (HMCSL) located on the grounds of the Hawaiian Mission Houses Historic Site and Archives (HMH).

Prior to this project, the only way that you could research these documents was to schedule a visit to the HMCSL reading room and request them. However, we are very proud to announce that in the very near future, we will have all of these documents available in the Hawaiian Mission Houses Digital Archive online!

This project was made possible through grant funding provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and patrons like you.
