company of missionaries. He served as the superintendent of secular affairs
for the mission, and also was a missionary teacher.

�2. Heneriaka Umiokalani - Heneriaka ʻUmiokalani is the writer of this and
several other letters. Although unidentified, she apparently held a position in
the church that allowed her to make recommendations for membership in the
Bible study meetings.
3. Mauole - Mauʻole is the person recommended for inclusion in the Bible study
meetings. While the original letter is written in ink, while the addition is in
