June 11, 2021 _ page 1, Executive Summary, paragraph 4: "Linton L. Torbert (Seaman-Rancher) leased lands from Kamehameha III in 1841 and created Torbertville. Capt James Makee purchased in auction the Torbert leased lands iin 1856 and renamed it Rose Ranch. Charles Makee the son of Capt. Makee married Phoebe Dowsett, whose father James Dowsett (Confidant of Kamehameha IV, Kamehameha V, and Lunalilo), purchased Rose Ranch in 1886. After the death of Charles Makee, Phoebe married Dr. James Raymond who purchased and renamed Rose Ranch to Raymond Ranch in 1990. In 1922 Frank Fowler Baldwin purchased Raymond Ranch and renamed it Ulupalakua Ranch in 1922. C. Pardee Erdman, a Petroleum Geologist, purchased the ranch in 1963."
