Chamberlain,
�Clarify to me the assistance for the ship we spoke of, upon which Mr. Green and
company would sail, so that I know. That is my short message to you with regard and kindness.

Notes:
1. Kemalani – Mr. Levi Chamberlain was a member of the second company of missionaries.
He was the superintendent of secular affairs for the mission and served as a missionary
teacher.
2. Mi Kalina ma – This refers to Rev. Jonathan S. Green and those associated with him.
Rev. Green was in the third company of missionaries.
3. Charles Kanaina – Charles Kanaʻina was a man of chiefly lineage who married Miriam
ʻAuhea Kekāuluohi. Their son, Willian Charles Lunalilo, became the sixth monarch of
the Hawaiian Kingdom.
