Description

This Mele Wahi Pana concert performance will send you on a journey to the legendary Waikiki beach on the south shore, retreat of royalty and tourist playground. Waikiki brings to mind the surf, with the famous breaks, the seat of governance for Kakuhihewa, the story of Kapo‘i, the rich production lands of Manoa, and the story of Kahalaopuna.

On Saturday, March 7, 2015, Marlene Sai, Joe and Shirley Recca, Alan Akaka and the Islanders, and Pamai Tenn shared their knowledge and talent through story and song. Kumu ‘Ohu Gon and his ha-lau oli Na- Wa‘a La-lani Ka-huna o Pu‘u Kohola, Kumu Mahealani Wong with Na- Hanona- o Ka Ha-lau Hula Pa- Ola Kapu, and Kumu Hula Pohai Souza and Ha-lau Hula Kamamolikolehua also performed.
